Fireflyfans.net was attacked today. It looks like years worth of excellent fan fiction has been horribly and perhaps irreparably lost.
Every entry that I have seen so far has been cut off at approximately it's halfway point. My stuff, Jan0904's Hotpoint, Tamsibling... The list goes on. Some of those stories are at Fanfiction.net as well but some are exclusive to Fireflyfans.net and the authors are no longer active in the community.
If the data cannot be recovered, it will be a daunting task for the authors (those who are willing to do so) to re-upload their work.
I, myself am looking at well over 300,000 words worth of material.
If the hacker can be tracked, I suggest we Browncoats find this purple belly. And if at least metaphorically, show them the following assembly instructions: Tree, rope, hacker... some assembly required.
Merry Gorram Christmas....
I'm posting this as an FYI since some of us also post our fics there

So, 2009 is drawing to a close. We had many a good fic this year and we are going to celebrate them by hosting the 2009 Pretty Deadly Deadly Awards!!
This is just a reminder so you can start reading all the 2009 fics and taking note of which one you would like to nominate. I'm thinking of opening up nominations on the 2nd or 3rd of January.

I just saw this version of Govt Mule's "Beautifully Broken" and it screams Jayne thinking about River to me.

I'm still not entirely sure what I think of this, but I just realized I'm already a day late so I figured I'd go ahead and post. It's kind of PG, but nothing graphic or beyond what was seen in the tv show/movie, I think.

A/N: It was very hard to think about Halloween when Christmas is next week. This is just a super short, slice-of-life drabble. Thanks to Idyllictorture for understanding why my prompts are so late and for letting me keep them anyways.

Title: The Christmas Surprise
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Not mine
Genre: Fluff, I guess.
Summary: Something strange happens when Kaylee hangs a mistletoe.
Author's Notes: I actually wrote this last year. I just thought I'd post it again since Christmas is coming up this week. It was pretty well received and was nominated for the Best Kiss category in the 2008 Pretty Deadly Awards. Delete this if that's not O.K.

Rating:NC-17
Written for the fall challenge. Prompt #6 "Migration"
Summary: All Jayne wanted was to enjoy a rare treat from home.
Note: Boy did I push it to last minute. Unbeta'd, so any suckage is mine. This is also the first full on Rayne smut I've ever written. Please, be kind. Concrit welcomed and desired. Definitely not my best, I think I need to rework it.

Here's the master list for all the entries in the Fall Challenge. 39 of the prompts have been filled so far. My goal is for all 50 to be filled. For the participants who have mentioned they are still participating, or have multiple prompts and haven't finished their other ones, I put a "PENDING" next to their name.
I've removed some people b/c they never posted nor have they communicated anything. If you had any of these prompts and still plan to do them and post them, say something here. Or PM/e-mail (xmenlinx@yahoo.com) me. If you're under "PENDING" and can't do it after all, please do the same.
I've been asked about due dates. They don't seem to be working, so I'm not setting any. But I'd like to see them all before DECEMBER 20, 2009 b/c that's when fall ends. Please let me know of your status either here, or PM/e-mail.

So I disappeared from the face of the earth on September 17th. I stopped watching tv, I stopped frequenting sites other then twitter and facebook, and I only read certain lj posts (short fics here) and certain friends' posts.
Why may you ask? Because I had the semester from hell school-wise. In short, since that fateful day in September I have completed:
( The hellishly long list of things )
I was having daily anxiety panic attacks, crying all the time and fighting depression. I only saw my family at meal times. I saw my boyfriend once a week (sometimes not even then) and I worked the whole time I was with him. I averaged 4 hours of sleep per night and pulled 5 all-nighters. I've lost a ton of weight and have lost all drive to do anything. Only two more exams and then I am done for two weeks.
Anyways, so that is where I was these past four months. Barely alive...next semester is supposedly a lot easier. We shall see.
